Rheumatic of Adult Onset Still’s Disease (AOSD)

Adult onset Still’s Disease (AOSD) is a systemic inflammatory disorder of unknown cause. In the clinical course this disease determined by systemic activity with exacerbation or chronic arthritis. No diagnostic test or pathognomonic histopathology, so the diagnosis of AOSD is often a diagnosis of exclusion.

AOSD is a disease of young adults, affecting men and women equally. Disease onset is before the age of 35 years about 76%. From medical review people with over than 50 years, fewer than 10% have AOSD disease. AOSD disease is often heralded by a sore throat and other constitutional symptoms.
