Uric Acid Diagnoses

Laboratorium analyses do in two ways, Enzymatic and General technique. Normal uric acid contains as Enzymatic test maximum 7 mg/dl, while in general test the maximum normal value is 8 mg/dl. If the test result contains over than the normal value, the patient may have a hyperurisemia.

The normal value contains of man and woman are different, the normal concentration for man about 3.5 to 7 mg/dl and for woman about 2.6 to 6 mg/dl. The concentration above that value called as hyperurisemia.

Patient:
Generally uric acid is suffered by man, while woman patient is in smaller percent and just attack after woman menopause. Uric acid is increase in man as the age become older. For women the increasing happened after menopause.

Why is this condition happened to man? Women have estrogen hormone that help on excrete this uric acid through urine. But for men uric acid contains tend higher than women because have no that hormone. So as long as women have that estrogen hormone, uric acid contains will under controlled, and after menopause women will have no estrogen hormone anymore, then women have a possibility getting uric acid disease. If uric acid contains exceed of normal value, the problem will merge on kidney, joint and urinal.

How to Control:
We can’t overcome this metabolism problem, we just control the diet. We must avoid food that contains high of purine. Foods are group into the several class as the contains of purine:

Group A: Food Contains high purine (150 to 800 mg/100 grams of food); entrails such as heart, kidney, brain, lung, shrimp, lobster, mussel, sardines, herring, meat, fermented food, canned food.

Group B: Medium contains of purine (50 to 150 mg/100 grams of food), such as fish, ox meat, beans, cabbage leaf, spinach, asparagus, mushroom, cassava leaf, papaya leaf, kangkung.

Group C: Low contains of purine (0 to 50 mg/100 grams of food); such as cheese, milk, egg, other vegetables and fruits.

Other factor that should be considered beside control of our food are don’t work to hard, routine check up to the doctor, because once getting this disease, uric acid problem will continuously suffering.
