The myth Rheumatism
Some of myths circulating among people about rheumatic, even some rheumatic factor.. Even some of the myths are wrong but people always believe that the causes of rheumatic cause by that factors. These are the myths:
  1. Rheumatic Arthritis is caused by cold weather, it like if take a bath every night or stay in cool room or air conditioned. The fact water or cold air will cause the joint capsule contract, this can increase pain of rheumatic joint that actually already there before. Cold temperature only the trigger of rheumatic disease that usually exist before.
  2. Arthritis is caused by foods such as offal. This myth is also widely believed by most people. The fact that more than 100 kinds of arthritis, only one relating to food (offal), the arthritis gout.
  3. The myth: Arthritis is caused by hereditary factors. The fact it is definitely wrong, but it still remains to be straightened. Not all arthritis is derived. Indeed there is some type of arthritis due to genetic factors.
  4. Antibiotic factor, antibiotics are only used in arthritis caused by infection (Septic Arthritis). If no infection, antibiotics are not needed. Antibiotics are also not given routinely, although the joint looks swollen and red.
  5. Pregnant women and lactating women prone to arthritis.Actually recent studies of the American College of Rheumatology in New Orleans, Louisiana, states that women who breastfeed their babies for two years or more, less likely to get rheumatoid arthritis than women who only breast-feeding infants less than three months.
